This just in.

According to Carin Perrilloux’s study which will be published in Psychological Science, we really aren’t on to how college undergrads think.
Perilloux and her co-authors surveyed 200 heterosexual college students who were evenly split between the sexes and with an average age of 19.

Here are their surprising findings:

1. The more attractive the woman was to the guy the more likely he was to rate her as interested in him!

2. The less attractive men (as rated by their female peers) were more likely to think that the gorgeous female undergrads were hot for them.

3. The more attractive guys had a more realistic assessment than their less attractive peers of which coeds were interested in them.

4. Regarding the college women: Basically they underestimated their male peer’s sexual interest in them.

The lead researcher of this study offers some invaluable tips:

1. For males:
Be careful if you are interested in a woman. She may not reciprocate.

2. For women:
Be careful who you flirt with. Men may see you smile and interpret it as a signal that you want them YIKES!
